This morning we woke up bright and early and got ready, only to find out there is no daylight savings time so we were ready an hour early. After going and eating a lovely contenental breakfast we began our lovely "8 hour" bus ride into the Amazon, that ended up being our 12 hour bus ride. During this bus ride at the very begining we met Peter and picked up Andreas who's mom worked for SELVA and because of his good grades he was accompanying us on the Rainforest part of the trip. One delay in our trip was our bus drvier poured water into the radiator a cap was not tightened enough so the bus steamed up and we had to wait for it to clear. Also later on the drive there was a religious parade in the street so we had to wait it out for an hour or so. On the ride however we got our first glimpses at the Rainforest and even a waterfall where the sediment was so rich in it it was black. We ended up at the resesrve in the evening and settled in for a lovely dinner followed by various card games.

Today we took a canoe ride to the Cafonaes tribe where we met Aurelio and he guided us on a 3 hour hike explaning there use of various natral plants found in the rainforest as well as pointing out the occasional animal. Mostly we saw this gorgeous blue butterfly but also saw a few monkeys and a snake. We also got to try these ants where you broke open a pod and ate the ants inside. A little hesitant at first i tried the ants and supprisingly they tasted good! They tasted like citrus and were actually really good. After our walk we had lunch in the village and bought some native crafts and played a hilarious game of soccer with the kids where everyone got covered in mudd so afterwards we went swimming in the river with them to clean off.

Today we took a bus ride/canoe trip into the Cuyabeno where we met D'Leo the high shaman of the Seona nation. During the canoe ride D'Leo pointed out an array of species including a baby anaconda! We got to the area where we were going to stay and helped set up lodgings before heading out in the canoe and went swimming in the black lagoon while watching the sun set. The sunset was absoloutly spectacular and afterwards we went on a night hike and saw some really interesting bugs and even a huge trantula!
Due to technical difficulties I will finish posting the rest tomorrow.
